- Channel 4 show invites celebrities and their spouses to make ‘whinge lists’
- Portia revealed some amusing habits of Ore’s while he complained that she often ‘squeezes his spots without warning’
Ore Oduba’s wife Portia has revealed that her husband’s bird phobia has become so intense it has ruined their holidays.
The married pair, who recently announced they are expecting their first child, took part in Channel 4’s Married to a Celebrity, which invites well-known faces and their spouses to air their grievances via a ‘whinge list’.
Portia, 28, explained that Strictly Come Dancing Champion Ore, 31, demands the pair sit inside whenever they eat on holiday because he is so scared a bird will land on their table.
She explained how she would love to be able to be able to enjoy the views and sit outside but is often stuck inside at the buffet with families and their small children.
‘Ore can’t sit outside because he’s scared that the little flying birds are going to come and land on the table and scare him away from his breakfast,’ she said.
Ore, who says he suffers from ornithophobia (an irrational fear of birds), explained: ‘It’s those little tiny ones hovering around, it’s getting me in a sweat thinking about it now. It’s such a shame but we have to watch indoors.’

Portia, who has been married to the presenter for two years, also shared the moment they first met at an event- when Ore only had eyes for the free pizza on the buffet table in front of him.
He confirmed the tale and added: ‘I’m going to come across as a real weirdo, because I am. But I didn’t think today would be the day we told the world…’
WHAT IS ORNITHOPHOBIA?
Ornithophobia is an irrational fear of birds.
It is a specific type of phobia.
For some people the common reason for the phobia is a negative encounter with a bird.
There are ways people can overcome their phobias, from hypnotherapy or desensitising techniques.
His wife, who is a TV researcher, didn’t hold back and reeled off a list of things Ore does that irritates her.
From the way he opens envelopes, his lengthy bedtime and morning routine, to sticking cotton buds in ears and sleeping ‘too much’.
‘Ore will sleep anywhere, anytime, anyplace. He will literally just nod off,’ Portia said.
When they share journey’s together, whether it’s on the train or a plane, his despairing wife will often found herself alone with no one to talk to as he falls asleep, only ‘waking up for the food’.
Ore is the current reigning champion of Strictly, after scooping the glitterball trophy in the 2016 finale with his professional dance partner Joanne Clifton.
He performed his stunning jive routine in the 2017 launch show last week with Jo ahead of the new class of celebrities taking to the dance floor to fight for the crown.

Ore reveals he has his own issues with Portia, who he tied the knot in a romantic ceremony at Penshurst Place in Kent in November 2015.
He complained that she would squeeze spots without warning, even when he’s sleeping: ‘It’s really annoying. It actually hurts me!’
And while most people lounge around in their homes in their casual clothes, Ore is forced to dress smartly whenever visitors arrive.
‘This is ridiculous. If you have visitors coming round to your house including close family and friends, Portia says you have to get changed to something more suitable.
‘Wearing chilled clothes at home isn’t acceptable for people, even those that are close to you, to see you in,’ he moaned.
But Portia reasoned that she wanted him to show a bit of ‘effort’.
